In 1974 a Southern California-based advertising agency briefly made its debut in the world of licensing. Formed by a group of surfer ad guys (stoners), they had a new approach to licensing that was a little less than mainstream. Their motto: “Celebrate Your Vices!” Unfortunately, the Funshine Co. marketing agency was only open for one year and never landed a successful campaign. After endless failed pitches to major clients, the rag-tag group of entrepreneurs decided they should stick to what they do best: surfing and being stoned. |
